These are a common eastern australian Honeyeater found mostly in coastal scrublands. They are an inquisitive and fearless bird that eats more insects and small fruit than honey. This one found its way into my house and trapped itself then after I finally encouraged it to leave via a doorway it sat somewhat exhausted on my rope deck railing and allowed me to take photos for several minutes. They often hang upside down under the house eaves and eat small spiders. In this poster format with a black frame or unframed mounted on a black backing board would make a great gift for any bird-lover.
