This is a mixed media painting incorporating charcoal pastel acrylic gesso and wax media to give a rich textured multilayered effect in blues and violets.It was to some extent inspired by the famous blue female back by Picasso in his blue period and is based on a sketch done in life drawing then worked on intermittantly for several weeks.
